About

What does it do

Larigira is a radio automation. To do so, it relies on a few other components:

  • larigira integrates with MPD (Music Player Daemon) and prevents your playlist from running empty. It also has powerful support for “events”: audio that must be played at some time.

  • liquidsoap. This is not strictly needed, but it might well be something you will need, especially if you are using larigira for a web radio

Larigira has some rough edge, but it’s what you need if you:

  • want a software stack which doesn’t take up so much resources, and works very reliably (ie: simpler setup and less resources than libretime or azuracast)

  • want a radio automation that DJs can interact with live. know the next songs, add songs last minute, reorder them easily

  • want a radio automation which is powerful in deciding what to play: larigira has a powerful “audiogenerator” system (think of it as something like libretime’s Smart Block, but much more powerful)

  • want a radio automation which is flexible in deciding when to play audios. You can have complex periodic events, exceptions to periodic events, and more. ie: play the second and fourth friday of March and April.
